IP Address Information

Parse and classify an IPv4 or IPv6 address: scope and the RFC that defines it, binary / hex / decimal / integer forms, IPv6 compress & expand, reverse-DNS name, and CIDR membership. Everything runs in your browser.

100% client-side. No external API calls, no geolocation, no logging. “Public” describes the address space only — nothing is looked up about who owns or where the address is. GDPR/DORA compliant.

IPv4 (dotted decimal), IPv6 (including :: and ::ffff:1.2.3.4), or a bare integer (32-bit → IPv4, up to 128-bit → IPv6).

How to use this tool
  1. Paste an IPv4 address (192.168.1.100), an IPv6 address (2001:db8::1), or a plain integer, then press Analyze (or Enter).
  2. Read the scope badge: it names the range and links the RFC that defines it. A “Public” result only means the address is globally routable — no lookup is performed.
  3. Use the representations (binary, hex, decimal/integer; for IPv6 the compressed and expanded forms) and the reverse-DNS name (in-addr.arpa / ip6.arpa) for PTR records.
  4. Enter a CIDR range below the result to test membership (IPv4 and IPv6). Pair it with the CIDR Calculator to plan subnets.
  5. Export the result (Copy / JSON / CSV / TXT). Nothing leaves your browser.
