Tips for a good tabletop
- Keep it psychologically safe. No-blame zone. The point is to surface gaps, not to test individuals.
- Time-box decisions. Each inject should force a decision in 5–10 minutes.
- Capture the gaps live. Assign a scribe and produce a hot wash action list at the end.
- Vary the audience. Communications, legal, HR, and exec sponsors are usually the most under-rehearsed players.
- Document for compliance. Keep the exported brief, attendance, hot wash actions, and the dated debrief minutes — auditors love it.
