Swiss FADP (nLPD) Self-Assessment

Swiss-grade broth check. Self-assess the revised Federal Act on Data Protection — nLPD / revDSG, in force since 1 September 2023 — obligation by obligation, and see where a control you already run for the GDPR covers you, and where the Swiss threshold, deadline or authority differs.

⚠️Self-assessment, not legal advice. The FADP protects natural persons only (data about legal entities is out of scope since 2023) and applies to processing with an effect in Switzerland; the supervisory authority is the FDPIC (EDÖB / PFPDT). Items reflect the Act (SR 235.1) and the Data Protection Ordinance as reviewed on — FDPIC guidance is still evolving, verify with counsel before relying on it.

Posture

Look each obligation up, with its GDPR counterpart and the material differences, in the Compliance Reference Database (FADP view); draft the policies the gaps ask for with the Policy Document Generator; the register and the processor checks live in the Third-Party Risk Register. This site's own privacy notice is written under the FADP.
