How ATLAS complements ATT&CK
- ATT&CK describes adversary behaviour against IT systems.
- ATLAS adds what is specific to AI systems: prompt injection, AI agent tool abuse, training data poisoning, model evasion and extraction, attacks on the AI supply chain. Some ATLAS techniques point to their ATT&CK counterpart.
- Use both: an AI-enabled service is exposed to classic (ATT&CK) and AI-specific (ATLAS) techniques.
- Maturity is MITRE’s rating: Realized (used in real attacks), Demonstrated (shown in research or red teaming), Feasible (shown to be possible).
